In an attempt to cut costs for the laboratory – before testing was compulsory for all employees – these hats were offered as compensation for test subjects.

Initially, everyone was quite excited. “What a lovely orange hat,” many of them exclaimed.
They quickly realized that having TWO lovely orange hats was unnecessary, and when it got to three they began to feel that someone was being made a fool of, but they weren't sure who.

They decided to go on strike, at which point they were all fired, and their hats were repossessed, to be made available to you for the low price of $24.95!

PORTAL 2 APERTURE 1970S LOGO TRUCKER HAT

PORTAL 2 APERTURE 1970S LOGO TRUCKER HAT

On Sale while stocks last.

Officially Licensed Valve / PORTAL 2 collectible

In the 1970s, Aperture Laboratories had a dedicated staff of truck drivers that would collect and deliver goods to the premises.

They each received one of these complimentary trucker hats, which were part of their mandatory dress code, so that the scientists would immediately know what they were and not to talk to them.

This tradition continued until The Great Trucker Rebellion of 1985.
A compromise was reached in November of that year when Cave Johnson reversed the dress code, forcing the scientists to wear trucker hats and the truck drivers to wear lab coats.
After two weeks, no one was pleased, and Cave Johnson fired all the truck drivers.

Adjustable with a plastic strap
